Huawei has forecast that smartphone shipments will reach the 200 million mark in 2018, as it aims to become the world’s top mobile phone seller by the end of 2019.
The Chinese smartphone manufacturer expects an increase in smartphone demand of 31 pc to achieve this goal.
The company adjusted its forecast for the remainder of the year up from 180 million following the release of its consumer business financial results this week.
According to the company, demand meant that it shipped over 95 million units during the first half of the year.
